As well as delivering the best possible education, we also have a clinical team who provide care and therapy to benefit the children in our school.
Our Clinical staff team consists of a Lead Clinician/ Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist and Therapy Assistant. We are also able to access clinical input from a psychology and psychotherapeutic perspective through our wider Outcomes First Group Clinical Services.
We work with each student, their staff and their parents/carers to provide a nurturing, safe and caring environment here at Strawberry Lane School. Clinical staff work together with the whole school team to provide a collaborative and clinically informed approach to delivering the curriculum and helping our students meet their potential.
We provide advice, consultation, training and detailed clinical reports to support in key meetings and reviews. Clinical staff also create and develop profiles for each individual student that describe their individual communication and sensory preferences, differences, traits and needs. We also inform the development of Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
Specialist clinical assessment and interventions are carried out when needed, and where a specific requirement for support is identified. We work closely with our staff teams to share ideas and practices to provide holistic and consistent wrap-around support for our students.
We aim to provide our students with a safe, caring and nurturing community with clear, consistent boundaries and high expectations. Relationships are at the heart of our approach and are based on sensitive understanding of a young person’s experiences and the areas in which they require more support.
