Home Our Approach Clinical therapy

Clinical therapy

As well as delivering the best possible education, we also have a clinical team who provide care and therapy to benefit the children in our school.

Working alongside our excellent education team at Strawberry Lane School, we have an in-house Clinical Team. Our Clinical Teams consist of skilled and experienced psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and psychotherapists. Support from the Strawberry Lane School Clinical Team works within Outcomes First Group’s Pyramid Strategy; at a specialist level our clinicians will assess and design a programme of interventions tailored to a young person’s needs. Our aim is to work collaboratively with all staff to create a specialist informed and therapeutically led environment for our young people enabling them to thrive. As a whole school offering our approach will aim to nurture, inspire and empower.

Within Options Autism our AAD (Ask, Accept, Develop) strategy aims to strengthen and continually progress our approach to the provision of care, education and clinical services to autistic individuals in an environment which is conducive to their strength and needs. The AAD strategy recognises that despite underlying shared traits, autistic individuals are vastly different from one another. Working alongside our ‘AAD’ is our ‘TIP’ Strategy which we have developed a Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) Strategy to educate and support individuals in understanding the impact of trauma on a child’s early experiences, the subsequent internal world they have developed, and how this relates to the survival skills or behaviours they have developed.

We aim to provide our students with a safe, caring and nurturing community with clear, consistent boundaries and high expectations. Relationships are at the heart of our approach and are based on sensitive understanding of a young person’s experiences and the areas in which they require more support.
